Representing WEDC, Dr. Josh attended a prestigious high-level meeting at the Office of the Prime Minister in Dili, reaffirming WEDC’s commitment to expanding its global partner network and exploring sustainable development opportunities on the international stage.

Strategic Talks & Promising Areas for Cooperation

The meeting was conducted in a warm, respectful, and forward-looking atmosphere, attended by Deputy Prime Minister Mariano Assanami Sabino, the Consul General of Timor-Leste (responsible for Cambodia), and international investors from Singapore, UAE, and China. Discussions focused on multiple strategic sectors, including:

• Industrial & Export Processing Zones – Unlocking potential for manufacturing growth and job creation.

• Social Housing – Addressing housing needs for local communities.

• Healthcare Facilities – Elevating medical services and community health standards.

• Educational Institutions – Building a skilled, future-ready workforce.

A key highlight of the visit was Consul General Ermenegildo Kupa Lopes formally accepting the invitation to serve as Senior Advisor to WEDC—a testament to the trust and strategic partnership between WEDC and the Government of Timor-Leste. In addition, Deputy Prime Minister Mariano Assanami Sabino invited Dr. Josh to join the nation’s Foreign Investment Advisory Council, underscoring WEDC’s influence and credibility on the global stage.
